Convert a 36V Battery into Standard 110V AC Power
Many battery systems provide DC power, while everyday electronic equipment is
designed to operate from a standard AC wall outlet. The DAS36300 bridges that
gap by converting 30V–45V DC power into 110V AC power.
This allows compatible AC-powered devices to operate from a suitable 36V battery
source while using their normal AC power adapters or power cords.
The front panel provides two standard U.S.-style 3-prong AC outlets
that can accept common 2-prong and 3-prong AC plugs. An ON/OFF switch and
operating-status indicators provide convenient control and monitoring.
Clean Pure Sine Wave AC Output
Unlike a modified-sine-wave inverter, the DAS36300 produces
true pure sine wave AC power. The smoother waveform is more
similar to the AC power supplied by a standard electrical outlet and is
particularly useful when powering electronics that may not operate properly
from a modified sine wave.
Pure sine wave output can be especially beneficial for sensitive electronics,
audio/video equipment, certain chargers, equipment with electronic controls,
and other devices that require a clean AC waveform.
Designed for 36V Battery Systems
The inverter is designed for a nominal 36V DC power source
and accepts an input voltage range of approximately 30V to 45V DC.
This makes it suitable for compatible 36V battery systems whose operating
voltage remains within this range.
Important – Check Polarity:
Connect the positive (+) battery terminal to the inverter's positive (+)
input and the negative (–) terminal to the negative (–) input.
Always verify voltage and polarity before making the connection.
Compact and Lightweight
Despite its 300W rated output, the DAS36300 is compact enough for portable
power applications and installations where space is limited. The inverter
measures approximately 8" × 4.3" × 2.4" and weighs only
about 0.95 kg (2.1 lb).
Installation-Friendly Housing
The aluminum-alloy enclosure provides durability while helping manage heat.
Integrated mounting flanges make the inverter convenient for fixed
installations where appropriate.
Install the inverter in a dry, well-ventilated location and
leave adequate open space around the cooling vents and fan. Do not cover the
inverter or restrict airflow during operation.
Battery Power Requirements
An inverter does not generate energy—it converts energy supplied by the
connected battery. Therefore, the amount of AC power available depends on
both the inverter and the battery supplying it.
Because power is lost during DC-to-AC conversion, a battery must supply more
than 300W of DC power for the inverter to deliver its full 300W AC rating.
With approximately 85% conversion efficiency, the battery may need to provide
roughly 350W or more under a full-load condition.
Before using a high-power load:
Make sure the connected battery and its wiring are capable of safely supplying
the required input current and power. A battery with an insufficient output
capability can limit the inverter's available AC output.
Typical Applications
The DAS36300 can be used to provide AC power from a compatible 36V battery
system for many lower-power electronic devices and AC adapters, including:
- Laptop and notebook AC adapters
- Battery chargers
- Small electronic equipment
- Audio/video equipment
- Communication equipment
- Test and measurement equipment
- Portable electronics
- Other compatible AC devices within the inverter's power capability
Important: Check Startup and Surge Power
Some devices require much more power when starting than during normal operation.
Motors, pumps, compressors, refrigerators and other inductive loads can have
startup or surge requirements several times higher than their normal running
wattage. A device rated below 300W during normal operation therefore may
still require an inverter rated substantially higher than 300W.
Before connecting this type of equipment, check both its
continuous operating wattage and startup/surge requirement.
If you are uncertain, choose an inverter with adequate additional capacity.
