BiXPower XP290 | Modular Portable AC Power
BiXPower XP290 322Wh Portable Power Station with 300W Pure Sine Wave Inverter
Portable AC Power. Replaceable Components. Flexible Runtime.
The BiXPower XP290 combines a 322Wh rechargeable lithium-ion battery with a separate 300W pure sine wave inverter to supply 110V AC power away from a wall outlet. Plug your compatible device's original AC adapter into the inverter, or connect another compatible AC-powered device within the inverter's electrical limits.
Unlike many all-in-one portable power stations, the XP290 separates the battery and inverter, allowing easier individual replacement, servicing, transportation and battery swapping.

Why Choose a Separate Battery and Inverter?
A conventional integrated power station places the battery and inverter inside a single enclosure. The XP290 uses two independent components, giving you more control over maintenance, battery replacement and future power needs.
1. Replace the Battery Independently
All rechargeable batteries gradually lose capacity. When the XP290 battery eventually needs replacement, you can keep using the existing inverter instead of replacing a complete power station.
2. Replace the Inverter Independently
If the inverter fails, the battery can remain useful with an appropriately rated compatible replacement inverter. This may save the expense of replacing working battery cells.
3. Extend Runtime with Spare Batteries
Carry additional fully charged compatible batteries and swap them one at a time. This provides more total available operating time without purchasing another inverter for each battery. Always switch the inverter off before changing batteries.
4. Easier to Carry
The battery weighs approximately 5.5 lb and the inverter approximately 2.1 lb. You can carry the two pieces separately instead of lifting the entire system together.
5. Flexible Placement and Cooling
Place the inverter where it has adequate ventilation while keeping the battery in a suitable location. Separate housings provide flexibility in managing inverter heat.
6. Lower Potential Long-Term Costs
Replace only the component that needs replacement. This can reduce long-term ownership costs when compatible replacement components are available.
7. Easier Troubleshooting
The battery, inverter, charger and connection cables can be checked independently, helping qualified personnel isolate faults without replacing an entire integrated system.
8. Less Electronic Waste
Continue using functional components rather than discarding them because another component has worn out. Recycle depleted lithium-ion batteries responsibly.
9. Flexible Equipment Choices
The battery may be usable with other compatible 24V-class DC equipment or inverters, provided voltage, current, connection and protection requirements are met.
10. Convenient Backup Planning
Keep a charged compatible battery in reserve for emergencies. Battery swapping can extend operation when recharging is not immediately possible.
Weight comparison: A modular system is not necessarily lighter in total than an integrated power station with the same battery capacity. Its key advantage is that the components can be carried separately. The lithium-ion battery itself is also much lighter than many comparable lead-acid energy storage systems.
Modular vs. Integrated Portable Power Stations
Some integrated power stations also support battery expansion or repair. Actual weight, efficiency and cost depend on the specific models being compared.
322Wh Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery
The XP290 includes a BX2493H rechargeable lithium-ion battery rated at 25.2V nominal, 12.8Ah and approximately 322Wh. The battery is compact, with dimensions of approximately 10.5 × 6 × 2 inches and a weight of approximately 5.5 lb.
Its durable ABS housing and built-in protection circuitry help protect against overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, short circuits and temperature-related problems.

Battery Specifications
300W Pure Sine Wave AC Inverter
The included inverter converts 24V-class battery DC power into 110V AC power at approximately 60Hz. Its 20V–30V DC input range is designed for compatible 24V lead-acid and 25.2V nominal lithium-ion battery systems.
The pure sine wave output is suitable for many compatible electronic power adapters, laptops, chargers, audio/video products and small AC appliances. Compared with modified sine wave power, it can reduce compatibility problems, unwanted noise and interference in certain equipment.

Pure Sine Wave vs. Modified Sine Wave
A pure sine wave more closely resembles utility AC power. It is generally preferable for sensitive electronics, certain motor-driven devices, variable-speed equipment and power adapters that require a clean AC waveform. It does not guarantee compatibility with every device.
Inverter Technical Specifications
Estimated AC Operating Time
Runtime depends on the device's actual average power draw, inverter efficiency, inverter idle consumption, temperature and battery condition. The following estimates use 322Wh × 85% as an illustrative usable AC energy budget.
Formula: Estimated hours = 322Wh × 0.85 ÷ average AC watts. These are theoretical planning estimates, not measured performance. Inverter idle draw can significantly shorten runtime at low loads, while startup surge and battery protection may limit high-load operation.
Applications
- Portable power for laptops and original AC power adapters
- Emergency backup for compatible networking equipment and small electronics
- Camping, outdoor activities and mobile workstations
- Small audio/video equipment and compatible lighting
- Field use where 110V AC outlets are unavailable
Do not rely on this system as an uninterruptible power supply or as a medical-grade backup for life-sustaining equipment. Check every device's operating wattage, startup surge and manufacturer power requirements.
How to Use the XP290
- Place the battery and inverter on dry, stable, ventilated surfaces.
- With the inverter switched off, connect the battery to the inverter using the supplied compatible DC connection.
- Check connector seating, correct polarity and cable condition.
- Turn on the battery output if required, then turn on the inverter.
- Plug in a compatible AC device or its original AC adapter.
- After use, switch off the inverter before disconnecting the battery.
Electrical safety: Never short the battery terminals, reverse polarity or use damaged/undersized wiring. Do not connect batteries together in series or parallel unless the battery manufacturer expressly approves that configuration. Turn off the inverter before swapping batteries.
Charging the Battery
Use the compatible lithium-ion charger supplied with the XP290 package and follow the battery charging instructions. The battery's listed charging limit is 29.75V with a maximum charge current of 2A. Do not exceed these limits or substitute an ordinary constant-voltage laptop adapter for a properly designed lithium-ion battery charger.
Charge within the specified 0°C–45°C temperature range. Keep the battery and charger dry and ventilated, and avoid leaving charging equipment unattended.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is a separate battery and inverter better for maintenance?
You can replace or service either component independently. A battery reaching the end of its life does not automatically require replacement of a working inverter.
Can I use multiple batteries for longer runtime?
Yes. Additional compatible charged batteries can be used sequentially. Turn the inverter off before changing batteries, and do not connect batteries together unless expressly approved by the manufacturer.
Is the XP290 lighter than an integrated portable power station?
Not necessarily in total weight. The advantage is that the approximately 5.5 lb battery and 2.1 lb inverter can be carried separately.
Can I replace the inverter with another model?
Only if the replacement inverter is compatible with the battery voltage, current capacity, wiring, connectors and protective requirements.
How long will the XP290 run a 100W device?
Approximately 2.7 hours under an illustrative 85% usable AC energy assumption. Actual operating time depends on the load, inverter consumption and battery conditions.
Can the XP290 run a laptop computer?
Yes, for compatible laptops whose AC adapters operate within the inverter's electrical ratings. Connect the laptop's original AC adapter to the inverter's AC outlet.
Does the XP290 provide pure sine wave AC power?
Yes. Its inverter provides 110V AC pure sine wave output, which is generally compatible with many electronic power adapters and sensitive devices.
Can I use a regular laptop AC adapter to charge the battery?
No. Use a compatible lithium-ion battery charger designed for the battery's charging requirements.
