Dual Power Smart Selector - 2 Inputs to 1 Output

This Dual DC power smart selection switch has two input ports and one output port. Its output will select from one of two inputs: If Input A port has power, the output will always select Input A. If Input A port has no power, it will automatically switch to Input B port. When Input A port power comes back, it will automatically switch back to Input A ( if Input A is 12V or higher).

This Dual power smart selector's input side has two 5.5 x 2.5mm Female connectors with 16AWG cables. The output is a 5.5 x 2.5mm male barrel connector with 16AWG wires. It is very easy and flexible to connect with batteries and other power sources.

Output: The output connector is a 5.5 x 2.5mm male barrel connector. This connector can only handle 10A current for a short period of time. It is recommended for use with a continuous current of 6A or less.

Applications:

1. You can use two batteries with one switch to provide twice the running time. When one battery is out of power, it automatically will switch to the other battery.

Need more running time? Just chain more batteries with more switches.

2. You can also use this switch to configure a battery backup system for main power supply similar to a UPS, like this:

When the main power supply has no power, it will automatically switch to the back up battery. When the main supply comes back, it will automatically switch back (if Input A is 12V or higher).

Note: batteries and power supply shown in pictures sold separately, not included.

Optional connector tips: The connector on the power adapter output cable is a 5.5 x 2.5mm male barrel connector, which will work with many devices. If you need different size connectors, you can order our C series optional connector tips separately. A C series connector can plug on the battery output cable to form a new connector.

Special Note: When switching between the two inputs, there will be a very short time period where there will be no output. You may not notice this interruption for many devices. However, if you are using it for a laptop computer or a tablet computer without an internal battery, it may shut down the computer or cause it to reboot. To use it to configure a UPS ( Uninterrupted Power Supply) Unit, you may need some extra devices beside this switch and power sources.
