Convert a DC Barrel Power Connection to a Cigarette Lighter Socket

The CGF525F provides a convenient way to power equipment that uses a cigarette-lighter-style male plug from a compatible DC power source equipped with a barrel connector.

The main cable accepts a 5.5 × 2.5mm male DC connector. Simply plug your compatible DC power cable into the 5.5 × 2.5mm female jack, and the other end provides a standard cigarette lighter female socket.

The standard CGF525F cable has a 5.5 × 2.5mm female barrel jack. It can connect directly to a compatible power source or cable equipped with a 5.5 × 2.5mm male DC plug.

A 5.5 × 2.1mm female to 5.5 × 2.5mm male adapter is included with the CGF525F.

Plug the adapter into the main cable's 5.5 × 2.5mm female jack to change the input connection to a 5.5 × 2.1mm female jack. You can then connect a compatible 5.5 × 2.1mm male DC power plug.

The adapter has a 5.5 × 2.1mm female jack on one side and a 5.5 × 2.5mm male plug on the other side.

Important: This Adapter Does Not Convert Voltage

The CGF525F is a connector adapter only. There is no voltage-conversion or voltage-regulation circuit inside.

The adapter changes the physical connector type only. The voltage, current capability, and polarity supplied to the cigarette lighter socket depend on the connected power source.

For example, connecting this adapter to a 12V DC power source will provide approximately the same 12V DC through the cigarette lighter socket. The adapter itself does not change 12V to another voltage.
