Power Compatible DC Equipment from a Vehicle Socket
The CR525M changes the physical connection from a vehicle
cigarette-lighter / accessory socket to a
5.5 × 2.5mm male DC barrel plug.
This makes it useful when a compatible DC-powered device or converter
has a 5.5 × 2.5mm female input but your available power source is a
car, truck, RV or other vehicle power socket.
5.5 × 2.5mm Male DC Barrel Connector
The output end uses a
5.5mm OD × 2.5mm ID male barrel connector.
Before ordering, check the DC input connector size required by your
equipment.
Important Connector Size:
This cable has a 5.5 × 2.5mm male plug.
Barrel connectors that look similar can have different inner
diameters. Please confirm that your equipment accepts a
5.5 × 2.5mm male connector before use.
Heavy-Duty 16AWG Cable with 15A Fuse
The CR525M uses 16AWG wire for DC power delivery.
The vehicle plug also incorporates a 15A fuse
to provide circuit protection.
Direct DC Power — No Voltage Conversion
Important:
The CR525M is a power cable / connector adapter.
It is not a DC-to-DC voltage converter.
There is no voltage-regulation circuit inside the cable. The voltage
present at the 5.5 × 2.5mm output follows the voltage supplied by the
vehicle power socket.
For example, connecting the CR525M to a nominal 12V vehicle power
socket does not convert the power to 5V, 9V, 19V,
20V or another voltage.
Always make sure the connected equipment is designed to accept the
voltage supplied by your vehicle or that an appropriate DC-to-DC
converter is connected between the CR525M and the equipment.

A 15A fuse does not mean that every vehicle socket, barrel connector
or connected device should continuously operate at 15A. The allowable
current depends on the complete power system, including the vehicle
socket, connectors, wiring and connected equipment.
