The male DC barrel plug has an approximately
5.5mm outside diameter and 2.5mm inside diameter.
Before ordering, check your device's DC input jack size to make sure the
connector is compatible.
How to Use This Adapter
Insert a compatible cigarette lighter male power plug into the
female socket on the CF525M. The other end of the adapter then provides a
5.5 × 2.5mm male DC barrel plug for connection to a compatible
device.
This makes the adapter convenient for reusing compatible car power cables,
DC power adapters, battery cables, and other power accessories that terminate
in a cigarette-lighter-style male plug.
Optional Connector Tips for Other DC Jack Sizes
Need a different DC connector size? The standard
5.5 × 2.5mm male barrel connector can be used with compatible
optional BiXPower connector tips to adapt it to other DC plug sizes.
Please Note: Optional connector tips are not included with the
standard CF525M adapter unless specifically selected or purchased separately.
Always verify the required connector dimensions and polarity before connecting
your equipment.
Does Your Device Use 5.5 × 2.1mm Instead?
The outside diameter of both 5.5 × 2.5mm and
5.5 × 2.1mm connectors is approximately 5.5mm, so the two
sizes can look very similar. The difference is the inside diameter of the
barrel connector.
If the standard 5.5 × 2.5mm plug fits into your device's
power jack but the connection feels too loose, your device may use a
5.5 × 2.1mm DC jack.
In that situation, you can select or purchase the optional
5.5 × 2.1mm adapter to convert the CF525M's 5.5 × 2.5mm
connector to a 5.5 × 2.1mm connector.
Helpful Tip:
5.5 × 2.5mm and 5.5 × 2.1mm DC connectors can look nearly identical.
If your existing plug goes into the jack but does not make a secure connection,
check whether your device requires the smaller 2.1mm center size.
Important: This Cable Does Not Convert Voltage
The CF525M is a connector adapter cable only. It changes the
physical connector format but does not increase, decrease, or regulate
the input voltage.
The voltage supplied through the cigarette lighter socket will be passed to the
DC barrel connector. Your power source must provide the correct voltage required
by the connected equipment.
Before Connecting Your Device:
Verify the required input voltage, connector size, polarity, and power
requirements of your equipment. Using an incorrect voltage or polarity
may damage the connected device.
