BIXPOWER AUTOMATIC DC POWER SWITCH
SW-DP1224 Dual DC Power Smart Selector -
Automatic 2-Input, 1-Output Power Switch
The BiXPower SW-DP1224 is a
compact automatic DC power source selector
designed to switch between two independent
DC power supplies or rechargeable batteries.
It features two DC input connections and one
DC output. The switch gives priority to
Input A and automatically
selects Input B when the
primary power source becomes unavailable.
When Input A power is restored to 12V or
higher, the switch automatically returns
to Input A.
Switching takes place within milliseconds,
making this device useful for compatible
backup battery systems, redundant DC
power arrangements, portable electronics,
and other applications requiring automatic
selection between two power sources.

Important Compatibility Notice:
The SW-DP1224 switches between two power
inputs within milliseconds, but a brief
interruption may still occur. Depending
on the input power sources and connected
device, some equipment may restart.
For critical applications, we recommend
purchasing one unit to test before
ordering additional units.
Automatic Dual DC Power Source Selection
The SW-DP1224 provides a convenient way to
select between two DC power sources without
manually disconnecting and reconnecting cables.
Two DC inputs and one DC output
How the Automatic Power Switch Works
The SW-DP1224 automatically selects its
output power source according to the
following priority:
Input A is the priority source.
When Input A has usable power, the output
draws power from Input A.
Automatic backup selection.
If Input A loses power, the switch
automatically transfers to Input B,
provided Input B has usable power.
Automatic return.
When Input A power returns to 12V
or higher, the switch automatically
selects Input A again.
No manual switching required.
The selection process operates
automatically.
This makes the switch useful for applications
with a primary power supply and a secondary
backup battery.
Automatic Power Selection
Selects between two DC input sources
without manual intervention.
Millisecond-Level Switching
Transfers between sources within
milliseconds. Some connected equipment
may still experience a restart.
Wide DC Input Range
Supports compatible DC power sources
within the 9V-30V input range.
Compact, Rugged Design
Aluminum housing with a water-resistant
design and 16 AWG connection cables.
Input and Output Connections
The switch uses two 5.5 x 2.5mm female
DC input connectors and one 5.5 x 2.5mm
male DC output connector.
The input and output cables use 16 AWG
conductors for reliable DC power connections.

Voltage Compatibility:
This device selects between two input
power sources. It does not regulate or
convert the selected voltage into a
fixed output voltage.
The connected equipment must be compatible
with the voltage supplied by either source.
Check connector polarity and voltage
before making connections.
Application 1: Automatic Switching Between Two Batteries
Connect two compatible rechargeable batteries
to the SW-DP1224 to create an automatic
dual-battery power system.
The first battery connects to Input A,
while the second battery connects to
Input B. When the first battery can
no longer supply usable power, the
switch automatically selects the
second battery.
This arrangement can extend operating
time without requiring the user to
manually move the power cable from
one battery to another.
Automatic dual-battery power configuration.
Batteries sold separately.
Multiple compatible switches may also
be arranged in a cascading configuration
for applications requiring additional
backup power sources.
Total operating time depends on battery
capacity, device power consumption,
voltage compatibility, and switching behavior.
Application 2: Main Power Supply with Backup Battery
The SW-DP1224 can be used to build
a DC power backup arrangement.
Connect the main DC power adapter to
Input A and a compatible rechargeable
backup battery to Input B.
Under normal conditions, the connected
device receives power from the main
DC power supply.
If the main power supply becomes
unavailable, the switch automatically
transfers to the backup battery.
When the main supply returns to
12V or higher, the switch automatically
returns to Input A.
Main power supply and backup battery
configuration. Power supply and
battery are not included.
Not a Guaranteed Uninterruptible
Power Supply (UPS):
Although switching occurs within
milliseconds, a brief interruption
in output power may occur.
Some computers, communication equipment,
controllers, and other sensitive devices
may restart during the transfer.
Additional power-hold circuitry or
a dedicated UPS may be necessary
for uninterrupted operation.

Important Compatibility and Return Policy
Millisecond Switching Does Not Guarantee
Uninterrupted Power
The SW-DP1224 automatically switches
between two DC power inputs within
milliseconds (ms). However, the switching
process may still produce a brief
interruption in output power.
Depending on the input power sources,
differences in voltage, and the
power requirements of the connected
equipment, some devices may shut down
or restart when switching occurs.
We strongly recommend ordering one
unit for testing before purchasing
multiple units.
Test the switch with your actual
power sources and connected device
to make sure it meets your requirements.
30-Day Return Option:
If the product does not work for your
application, you may return it within
30 days for a refund, subject to our
return policy.
Original shipping charges are not
refundable. Customers are also
responsible for return shipping costs.
Optional DC Connector Tips
The standard output connector is
a 5.5 x 2.5mm male DC barrel plug.
If your device uses a different connector
size, compatible BiXPower C-series
connector tips may be purchased separately.
Optional connector tips are not included
unless selected as part of the order.
Confirm voltage, current, connector size,

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the SW-DP1224 switch automatically?
Yes. It prioritizes Input A and
automatically switches to Input B
when Input A loses power.
How fast does the switch transfer power?
Switching occurs within milliseconds.
The exact interruption depends on
operating conditions. Some devices
may still restart.
Will it prevent my computer from restarting?
Not necessarily. Some devices have
enough internal energy storage to
tolerate the interruption, while
others may shut down or reboot.
Testing with your actual equipment
is recommended.
Can I use two different batteries?
Yes, provided both batteries are
compatible with the switch and
the connected equipment accepts
the output voltage from either source.
Does the switch charge the backup battery?
No. It selects between DC power sources.
Battery charging requires a separate,
compatible charger or charging system.
Does it provide a constant output voltage?
No. It is a power selector, not a
DC voltage regulator. The output
follows the selected input voltage.
What is the maximum recommended current?
Continuous output current should
be 6A or less. The connector's
short-duration limit is 10A.
What if it does not work for my application?
You may return it within 30 days
for a refund, subject to the return
policy. Original shipping charges
are nonrefundable, and the customer
pays return shipping costs.
